Did this game affect anyone else like it did me?

I have never been this upset over a football game. Until last night, I could say that I never lost sleep over a football game. I could not get the Vols' stupid fight song out of my head as I tossed and turned until about 3:30 am. I was so upset/beside myself that I couldn't even bring myself to have relations with the girlfriend.

I woke up hoping it was all some weird nightmare. And yes, I have dreamt about LSU losing before a big game.

    Am I too obsessed?

I made up for it this morning.

    I think you're right though.

I felt like someone had kicked me in the balls and then with me laying on the ground they began pouring acid all over me and my skin started to melt.

Then for fun they threw gas on me and lighted me on fire and were laughing at me trying to put it out.

Man i was really feeling bad.

Maybe my wife is onto something. I am taking football just a little too serious.

Damn her. Why does she always have to be right.

no your not alone. The loss isn't what bothers me its the simple coaching mistakes that bother the **** out of me.

I think it was 1987. LSU had a 15 point lead over Ohio St. with about 5 mins left in the game - LSU lost. I didn't sleep a wink that night. This one came close. I think I got about 2 winks.

I live in Chicago. I brought my "Yankee" girlfriend down to the bar where the LSUChicageaux alumi group watches games. There was about 75 of us there last night.

Her comment was, "wow, you guys (yankee for ya'll) really take this stuff seriously". Needless to say, she saw us at our worst when the game was over. I think we scared her. Pretty hilarious.

Well here is something I've noticed for the past three years. Even the year we won the NC.

I DO NOT ENJOY WATCHING LSU PLAY ON TV! It's pure torture even when we win. It's like you're sitting in a doctor's office waiting on medical test results to determine whether or not you are terminal.

I hyperventilate. I pace. I rock back and forth. I'M MISERABLE!!!

During the Sugar Bowl I had to get completely drunk out of my mind to deal with it.

I am not enjoying the experience anymore. I can't and won't watch anymore.
I'll record the games. Then I'll check to forums to see if we won and then watch the tape. If we lost I won't watch.

After last night I'll never feel comfortable again with ANY lead while Miles is coach. He did the same thing last year, especially against Texas.

I can watch the games in Tiger Stadium because you have the tailgating, pregame drinking, etc. That makes it a nice experience but watching on tv is not fun at all anymore.

This crushing loss and historic collapse also affected me last night, although I wish it did not. I also could not get to sleep. I guess it was shock or something, but I got very little sleep last night. All I could think about was the game. Even when I dreamed for a moment, it was about the game.

I wish that I could just TURN IT OFF when I need to, because I don't want our losses to affect my sleep. If this continues, I'll have to avoid watching the games and catch the score after the game is well over.

Guess I am not a good fan.
I slept like a baby, took a shower, ate some malted whoppers watched Arrested Development on Tivo and fell fast asleep. Being married Relations was not even an option.
I guess I settled into the fact long ago Less Smiles was our coach and Pellini took the OU secondary from #7 to #50 in pass defense, and when he was at Nebraska the term "Black Shirts" was no long applied. So I sort of expect various meltdowns.
For me until Less Smiles is no longer our coach I will pray for a win but prepare for a loss. Its easier for me to live that way. I am back to the Hallman days, a win is a luxury and a loss is expected. That way when Less Smiles plants another stinker I can say. Oh well see ya next week. Still love the Tigers and will always cheer those guys no matter if the Goofy Hat, Madonna Headset one is in place or not. Or if Gomer is running our DB's 70 yards off the ball. Geaux Tigers.
Call me an alarmist, flame away. But I will sleep well each night, because frankly until Skip figures it all out. Its going to be like this for awhile.
