Did Tua open the Heisman door wide open?

    Tua
    3,353 passing yards, 37 TDs, 4 Ints
    190 rush yards, 5 TDs

    Murray
    4,053 passing yards, 40 TDs, 7 Ints
    892 rush yards, 11 TDs

    Haskins
    4,580 passing yards, 47 TDs, 8 Ints
    122 rush yards, 4 TDs

Statistically not really that close. You could argue that was Tua playing in just 3 quarters for much of the season.

You could also argue Murray needed to be great in many of the games in order for them to win.

It's between Tua and Tyler Murray.

The Heisman is for the best player not the best team. Football is a team sport and it takes the entire team to win or lose a game. Determine who the best player is and give him the Heisman, take team record out of it. Same argument could be made as to why Drew Brees has never won an MVP despite being the most prolific passer in NFL history.

Heisman...YAWN. Tua is really good. However, a tougher schedule and not such gaudy numbers.

Even though statistically he is better than both of the other 2? I mean Hurts proved last night he can be just as effective as Tua. Is that because Hurts is really good? Tua is also really good, that offense is exceptionally good and Jordan Jefferson could win a title there, or somewhere in the middle? Tua is probably gonna win and I wouldn’t fault anyone for voting for him but I have a really hard time believing he would have been as good as he is anywhere else. he still would have been good but 29 points or more on every team in the regular season? Dude is hurt all 2nd half of the season and his “human” numbers LSU fans would kill for to see their qb perform like Tua on his worst day.

I just brought up Haskins because he has thrown for more yards than all the FBS qb’s more TD’s than any of them either. Murray isn’t too far behind the thing that separates Murray from the other 2 is he is has waaaaaay more rushing yards than the other 2. And Haskins has 7 more TD’s than Murray in the air and about 500 more yards, 10 more TD’s in the air than Tua and about 1200 more yards.

I just don’t know. I said I would probably go with Tua earlier in this post but honestly looking at it, Murray deserves it more if we are talking regular season only and most important to their team. Remove Tua Alabama is still playing in the final 4. Remove Murray and OU isn’t shit. Remove Haskins and I don’t know, they would probably be not as bad off as OU would be without Murray.
