I was checking around the blog world today about Les Miles comments, which are soooo true by the way, and I've read alot of different opinions. But this article on http://www.sportsindeed.com adressed the issue in a totally different way. Should Miles have maded those comments? Has he earned the right? Any comments...? I just want to know the LSU side of this arguement...

Going through the article bit by bit I will make a few statements.

He was just being honest at the wrong time and I am sure he wont make that mistake again during a time when there is really no news to report. He made these statements at an LSU function where all the fans now his statements to be true and not that big of a deal because it is that way year in and year out.

He fails to realize it is not all recruitng that brings success. Most of these recruits didnt even play a snap while Saban was here. Miles is winning more games than Saban did with his own recruits.

This statement goes a little overboard as well and it seems he is following the hype of a the media. I can assure you that our players will have no time to think about USC schedule with the brutal road in the SEC and if they did it is not news to them. Why would they feel sorry for themselves? They were recruited into the toughest and most NFL ready conference and that will pay dividends for their future draft stock. Does he honestly think these recruits will ponder "man I could have gone to the Pac 10 and had an easier schedule"?

One thing is for sure, even though it was bad timing on Miles' part it seems to have set LSU up to be ranked in the top 2 before the season starts and set the media folks on the possibilty of a huge game in New Orleans against USC. I think this will help LSU get the votes they might need in the end to see the matchup everyone is now talking about.

This blog deserves no response and posting a link here is probably just SPAM from its author. Opponents had better stop worrying about Les and start worrying about the LSU squad that is going to blow the doors off some very good teams this year.

When opponents blog negative stuff about our coach or our fans instead of talking football, I realize that they are losers without a shred of swagger.

Well said. For some reason, this season has probably the best scripting for an LSU title run ever (even more so than 05.) Just think if we meet USC in the Sugar and just absolutely dismantle them. Wow.

I'm actually an alumni of another SEC school...I'm 2 degrees of seperation from the author of that site (friend of a friend, though never met), but I have alot of respect for LSU's program...I'm new to this site, but I wanted to get a feel of what LSU's fans think about Miles (is he picking up on Saban's leftovers or really legit?)....It's really been a hot topic at work over the last few weeks (Big 10 Fans)

I guess only time will tell...

Les Miles is the best coach on this plane or elsewhere.

    I have traveled them all.

BHelm, you make a good point about the hype, any press you can get is good i guess nowadays...it's how Michigan (ESPN Hype) almost snuck in to the title game last year...

Screw Saban. Miles has proved to be one helluva coach the last couple of seasons. He's not afraid to surround himself with the best coordinators in the biz, nor is he an egomaniac like Saban. As far as Miles winning with Saban's talent, I think that's hogwash! You can't expect to field a team of 4 and 5 star players and win based by that alone. Every school in the country has talent, it's what you do with that talent that sets you apart. Plus, do you remember Saban's last season as LSU's HC? Whether or not the players we have now are Saban's, Miles still did a lot more with them. Perrilloux would NOT be here if it were for Saban. Likewise, Saban won with a lot of Dinardo's "talent."

Do they also wonder if Urban Meyer is "picking up one Zook's leftovers"...or is he really legit? There will be quite a few of Saban's leftovers on our team this year, as well...but the same man that has coached back to back 11 win seasons will be coaching them again...along with a whole stable of HIS RB's. As far as I know, only 1 receiver leftover from Saban will see the field, as well. We'll just have to wait and see...but I think Les is going to shut a lot of critics up this year.;)
