If miles left for some reason would we even try to get him?

if you could have saban back next year, but that would mean pushing miles out...would you do it?
at this point i would have to say no. but if miles left, no doubt.
somewhere in the back of his mind i'm sure he wants the chance to enjoy all the facilities that he had built.

Why would I want to take back a coach who jerked us around before he left? He could have handled his departure a lot better instead of calling it in from Orlando.

I kind of doubt it. Something tells me he'd "want a new challenge." He shouldn't have left. He had his perfect gig, much like Pete Carroll does at USC. I don't blame him for trying the next level, but it isn't likely to work out in current form. Given everything, I wouldn't see him coming back to LSU. That stuff just doesn't really seem to happen, and Saban doesn't strike me as the type of guy who would come back to some place he has already been.

I certainly would not push Miles, but if some reason Miles left I certainly would make a stab at getting him back. However, I don't think he would come unless he was completely fed up with Miami or pro ball in general.

I agree and Saban probably realizes that now. LSU was the perfect place for him. But I don't see it happenning again.

No there is no chance. Maybe as AD or something, I think he did like LSU very much and it is pretty obvious he wishes he had not left in the first place.
With all that being said, the man has a severe credibility issue. His next coaching position their fans will be just like Mich St, Us, Miami thinking WE HAVE FOUND OUR COACH. Only to find out in two years he is back on the podium light bulbs flashing agent dealing on the next gig.

I like Saban, I think what he did here was magical. But its time for both for people like me who wanted him back so bad to move on.

Miles is our coach like it or not (Some do some dont) if you really look at it, Saban had 4 losses his last year. If Miles had 4 losses we would be running him out on a rail in the fan base. Miles cannot win big games etc etc. We all tend to forget the UABs, the Oregon States, the close calls against horrible teams, the Iowa game, I didnt want him to leave, but he did. So...
    Good Day...

If Miles were to leave or fail to maintain the program and a new coach were to be hired, I doubt we could find someone with better credentials than Nick.
Look at the other schools that have changed coaches recently. Remember the difficulty in our last several coaching searches in landing a top coach. When good coaches are at an established program they don't want to leave. Yeah I would take Nick in a minute if we had an opening.

Id never push Miles out of the way for Saban. Hypothetically speaking here. Lets say Carr leaves for the Giants or gets fired at the end of the bowls. Miles gets the job at Michigan. Saban says he wants to come back to LSU, leaving the Dolphins. Id never want to take him back. Because if he would leave again this soon in Miami, coupled with how he left LSU the man obviously has no honor or integrity. Even if it were years down the road Id have trouble accepting Saban back to LSU. I know sometimes you have to swallow your pride for the betterment of the whole. I just dont think I could ever trust Saban.

This is where guys could learn something from the chicks. Never take back a man who broke your heart, no matter how good he was in bed. Or in this case with wins/losses - practically the same thing. He's just gonna set you up to break your heart again.
