For the benefit of the players? Incorrect...you are hurting the players. If we had a coach and some time to put in the new coaches plans, I would agree but all this does is hurt every players chance, especially the Seniors, of winning this game.
Saban I am honored that Saban is sticking around. Just goes to show what a class act he is. He didn't decided to abandon the team before their bowl game so he could start w/ Miami. All he has done was accepted the job, but has still remained committed to preparring for the Cap-1 game. That is going out with CLASS. Hate to see him go. (I may have to start rooting for the Dolphins or should I say Saban in the NFL).:geaux:
I respectfulluy disagree. The team, as well as Saban deserve one last game together.... He handled the decision to go as he figured best for whatever reasons and I respect him for that. After all of the things he's brought to LSU over the last 5 years and as much as the team loves him, it's a no-brainer. He's the best coach we've had here probably.... I'd love to see him run out on the field with the team 1 last time... And so would they..... And so they will.
what if there's a certain contingent, probably underclassmen if so, that want him to go? all conjecture, Im simply speculating to keep from having to read Petrino's name again. i figured most wanted him to coach it while some would not.
The seniors are leaving with 2 SECC rings and a national championship ring. Instead of all the focus being on what they have done for LSU, they are being and will be overshadowed by the Saban to Miami talk. It would also allow Jimbo and Muschamp to finally get some exposure. And, I don't exactly buy that Saban is 100% focussed on Iowa. Somehow I'm guessing he's been thinking a lot about Miami and his future staff, from the coaches to the front office. I'd have loved to see these seniors go out and whip Iowa without Saban. Now that would be leaving in style.
