1. Specifically for the signees on the team in 2005

    1. 76 Andrew Whitworth OT 6-7 325 Sr West Monroe
    2. 64 Rudy Niswanger C 6-5 293 Sr Monroe
    3. 90 Melvin Oliver DE 6-3 274 Sr Opelika, AL
    4. 82 David Jones TE 6-4 260 Sr Silver Springs, MD
    5. 10 Joseph Addai RB 6-0 210 Sr Houston, TX
    6. 44 Kevin Steltz FB 5-9 244 Sr New Orleans
    7. 8 Ronnie Prude CB 5-11 182 Sr Shreveport
    8. 2 Shyrone Carey RB 5-6 203 Sr New Orleans
    9. 97 Brandon Washington DT 6-4 305 Sr Tuscaloosa, AL
    10. 17 Bennie Brazell WR 6-1 166 Sr Houston, TX
    11. 42 Phillip Maxwell LB 6-1 217 Sr Shreveport
  2. I know from Rudy down were mainly 4 stars...Whitworth may have been a five star...I think he was...
  3. I looked on Rivals, but now they only go back to 2002. If I remember right 3-4 stars on most of the ones you have listed sounds about right.
  4. Below is the Rivals 100 and team rankings from 2001. These didn't come directly from Rivals so I can't absolutely vouch for them, but they look about right. There was a lot more star inflation back then, particularly in the 3 and 4 stars. Rivals started to clamp dowm over the following couple of years. You can be certain about the guys that appear on this list. The top 4 would have been 5 stars and the rest 4 stars. My guess at the rest of the list is included:

    1. 76 Andrew Whitworth OT 6-7 325 Sr West Monroe (4 star)
    2. 64 Rudy Niswanger C 6-5 293 Sr Monroe (4 star)
    3. 90 Melvin Oliver DE 6-3 274 Sr Opelika, AL (3 Star as I remember. Lamarcus Rowell, his teammate was the star)
    4. 82 David Jones TE 6-4 260 Sr Silver Springs, MD (4 star, #2 player in MD, I think)
    5. 10 Joseph Addai RB 6-0 210 Sr Houston, TX (I'm thinking 4 star. I think Ketch had him in or near top 10 in TX)
    6. 44 Kevin Steltz FB 5-9 244 Sr New Orleans (2 star; was a walkon)
    7. 8 Ronnie Prude CB 5-11 182 Sr Shreveport (Was well thought of, but I'm guessing 3 star)
    8. 2 Shyrone Carey RB 5-6 203 Sr New Orleans (guessing 3 star. size would hurt, but was so electric, may have been low 4 star)
    9. 97 Brandon Washington DT 6-4 305 Sr Tuscaloosa, AL (I'm guessing 3 star)
    10. 17 Bennie Brazell WR 6-1 166 Sr Houston, TX (3 star. Speed alone should have gotten him this)
    11. 42 Phillip Maxwell LB 6-1 217 Sr Shreveport (2 star)

  5. Addai was definitly four. Carey may have been a three that year, but the year before he was either a four or a five. The year he signed with Tennessee, he was the top rated player in the state of LA. Also in regards to Whitworth, what does "#2 player in MD, I think" mean? What is MD?
  6. Scew up by me as I was bouncing around writing comments. Meant to put that next to David Jones. MD means Maryland, which would have made sense in the correct context. Thanks for pointing it out.
  7. I figured just a error...
