Does anyone think that Mississippi State can beat Arkansas?

    Does anyone think that Mississippi State can beat Arkansas this Saturday, or is it too much to hope for? What do you think? State was able to beat Bamma.

    Sure they can, the odds are stacked against that happening but we've all seen much more improbable upsets than that.

    Even if they do, it will only matter if Bama beats AU. In a 3-way tie with Ark losing to MSU and us, Ark would be eliminated first due to a 3-2 West record vs 4-1 for AU and us. After Ark is eliminated it will then be determined by head to head between AU and us, so we would need Bama to beat them.

    I didn't think Alabama-Birmingham would beat LSU either. Stranger things have happened.

    And Zona did upend Cal. Unfortunately, Nutt will have his team prepared, as they know that if they beat MSU, they lock up the division. Now Sly Croom could hire in Dale Brown for a little motivation talk about how MSU can alter the outcome of the Hogs season. That and 4 bucks will get you a latte at Starbucks.

    Its tempting to look at that MSU/Bama and see that there is a chance.

    I guess Bama fans would be the only ones to tell what really happened in that game and whether they think MSU could give Arkansas a battle.

    I think it comes down to whether Nutt has his troops ready for MSU and not looking ahead to LSU.

    The big thing now is that Arkansas is really a credible option for a chance at the national title should they win out, so the pressure has been ratcheted up 10 fold for them to perform. That's an intangible that you can't really measure come game time. Tight play and nerves could easily be there undoing against a far inferior opponent as MSU. The way Arkansas comes out in that first quarter of play could decide it. Leaving MSU hanging around in that game come late 3rd quarter, early 4th could spell doom for Arkansas.

    There is a small chance but not counting on it. Ark is much better than Miss St Unfortunately.. but i will be rooting for MSU.
