1. boycott the BCS - IF Florida wins the SEC Championship and don't make the big game? That's 2 SEC teams within 3 years that got robbed. SEC was the one who started the BCS... Maybe this will force a playoff??? Hopeful - wishful thinking? sure...but food for thought.
  2. to much $$$$$$$$$$ involved.
  3. When does the BCS contract end?
  4. Of course not. And it's entirely possible that they shouldn't, depending on how things shake out. The BCS DID work for the SEC roughly three years ago.
  5. tell florida that they dug their own grave playign the likes of Western Carolina out of conference...

The SEC don't even have the balls to admit their officials made mistakes when they do, so why would they do something as drastic as this?

P.S. if they played Michigan, they'd get killed...
  6. You are exactly right, and how refreshing it was to read this article where two other conferences did admit that mistakes were made and offered apology.....doesn't change the game but how hard it that? Pretty dam admirable in my book.

  7. USC's resume must more robust than Florida's (5 wins against top 20 competition if they beat ND).

Ohio State doesn't have a loss.

Not sure where Florida has a right to complain. They should have taken care of business and beat Auburn. The game was theirs. They gave it away.

Let's face it, SEC teams are pretty weak when it comes to out of conference scheduling. At least Arkansas had the balls to schedule USC. We need to see more of this.

Western Carolina huh? John Ehret wasn't doing anything this past weekend. Shoulda scheduled them instead.
  8. Actually that 5 wins against top 20 competition is not accurate. One of those "top 20"wins was against Oregon who is now not even ranked after getting blown out by a mediocre Arizona team 37-10. So far this season USC has beaten only 3 teams who are currently ranked and one of them was against Arkansas in the first game of the season, without two of Arkansas' best players. Let's be honest here, if USC and Arkansas played this week, what would be the outcome of the game? Another one of the ranked USC oppenents is CAL, who got blown out by Tennesse and also lost to that same juggernaut Arizona team. The third win against a ranked opponent was against Nebraska, who is currently ranked 23rd, and has beaten nobody good.

So where are all these quality wins for USC that everybody is talking about????? What nobody is talking about is all the pitiful, umimpressive wins USC has against mediocre or flat out bad teams this year. USC went through a 5 game stretch where they struggled to beat Arizona, Washington St., Washington, and Arizona ST., and THEN LOST TO OREGON ST! Why isn't anybody mentioning this?

Michigan's only loss is to the #1 ranked team in the nation. Florida's only loss is to a SEC team currently ranked #11. USC lost to a bad, unranked team and nearly lost to a few other bad unranked teams. Yet if USC beats Notre Dame, who got blown out at home against Michigan, they will most certainly play for the national championship?????

I am so sick of all the preferential treatment USC gets just because of the media attention they get and their history!
  9. The problem is lack of conference parity. OK, Western Carolina is a bit ridiculous, but the SEC knocks the snot out of each other in conference. And as I have pointed out many times before, nearly on a perennial basis, there are 4-6 top 25 teams in the SEC, 1/2 of those are top 10, then 1, maybe 2 top 5. All we have to do now to get some respect is...add 2-3 more OOC. I am definitely for playing good OOC schedules. For example, USC plays 0, maybe 1 top 25 in conference. Then, I think they get a little, that is..much too much credit for OOC. In fact, it seems they get credit for OOC only. Apparently that's the case anyway...beat by Oregon State, now vying for NC. Total BS. If you're in a really tough conference, kiss the NC goodbye. The reason Michigan and Ohio State is where they are...the Big 10 sucks wind this year. Better conference and they have 1,2,3 losses. This system is unbelieveably flawed.
  10. Please, PLEASE stop talking about teams "almost losing." A warning-track fly ball is almost a home run, a one-hitter is almost a no-hitter, and dry humping is almost sex.

A win is a win, good teams struggle against inferior teams all the time. LSU almost lost to Ole Miss, Arky almost lost to Bama and Florida almost lost to S. Carolina. Tenn. almost lost to Air Force! What does it mean? Nothing!

It'd be nice to dominate everybody, but sometimes the better team has to dig deep and pull one out.
