Domanick Davis appeared in Houston's locker room Monday with a new haircut and a new attitude. But the biggest change is in his name.

    Williams

"I'm a new man," he said. "That was Domanick Davis that y'all knew about. This is Domanick Williams that y'all looking at."

The Texans' franchise leading rusher, who spent this season on the injured reserve with a knee problem, has legally changed his last name from Davis to Williams, his mother's maiden name.

He said that Davis was the last name of the father of his older brother and he never felt right about having his name.

Does he think the Longer Last name will make him look thinner?

    Not sure..
I hope he comes back asgood as ever. I've been a big fan of his for a long time now. I was one of the few people I know who wanted him to get more carries than he did while splitting time with Toefield.

You weren't alone. I always thought Domanick was more productive. If you looked at avg. yds. per carry, I thougth he should have been the starter. When Toefield got hurt and Domanick started, I thought he did a better job. I hope he picks up where he left off, for Houston's sake. We need a better running game.

Hopefully the name change has allowed him to realize that knee injuries make your knees hurt, and that doesn't normally end your season.

I doubt he'll be with the Texans next year, unless the cap hit is too high for Casserly giving him that extension.
