This scares me guys. I live in B'ham and bought the Middle Tennessee game on GamePlan and thought that Miles was just playing all the young WRs. The announcers never even made mention of Doucet's injury during the game other than pointing out that he hadn't seen much playing time. Granted, we have tons of depth and potential at WR, but we need that one rock solid veteran to tie it all together (ie Michael Clayton in '03). If Doucet is out for 3-4 weeks, I am really, really worried about the Florida game. Not to mention Flynn doesn't just have an ankle sprain...it's a high ankle sprain. You know that sprain that seems linger and bother a player all year. I cannot believe that this happened to us. Especially Doucet....it was during a walk through!!! We can take out South Carolina because their O is rather mediocre still and I know we have probably the best D in the country, but as evidenced by Florida's thrashing of Tennessee this past Saturday, we won't be able to shut them down completely. We gotta get some points. What do ya'll think? How detrimental will this be to the upcoming HUGE games between South Carolina and Florida? HUGE national implications if we can knock off #12 and #3 but even harder with our starting QB and stud WR nursing injuries. I'm more than a tad worried after hearing about these injuries.

    Thoughts?

We have 19 days till Florida, If Doucet's rested till then it is possible he could be ready by then. If not at least all the other WR have had some practice and will be that much better by then. I think Flynn will play through the pain off and on for the rest of the year. I have had a high ankle sprain and it lasted a year. He is young and tough and will deal with it, but again if RP has to come in all of this playing time will certainly help. Keep the faith, we are deep and well coached.:thumb:

Injuries are starting to mount at every school. Doucet being out will hurt us, yes, but we get these teams in BR and that will be huge. We beat SC 38-13 and Florida 24-17 without him. Go Tigers!

If these injuries don't heal up soon, this will be a very, very bad stroke of luck for our beloved LSU Tigers.

Injuries are, of course, part of the game, but when your starting QB and star WR are injured so early in the season, I'd have to say that you have rolled "snake eyes."

Only time will tell how this affects us, but, I believe that the SEC West team that gets to the SEC Championship game will be undefeated in the SEC West.

It will be either LSU or Bama in ATL to play Florida. We will need all of our best players healthy to beat either team.

Alabama will lose only 3 or 4 games over the course of the next four years. The sky is the limit for them -- they have a good chance to go undefeated this year. We are not going to beat them or Florida unless we have our best players healthy.

Our defense will fare much, much better against Florida's offense than Tennessee did. That being said, we're still going to need our offense to put some points on the board in that game & I'd feel much more comfortable with Doucet in the game.

The good news is that our QBs & young WRs will get 3 full games to work out the kinks of not having him in the offense before facing Florida. That is if Doucet is even still injured at that point. There's just no way to know right now.

I'm not concerned about the South Carolina or Tulane games without Doucet.

FWIW Miles said today that we should expect to see Flynn play Saturday.. They said they thought he probably could have for MTSU but they didn't play him to be safe.

If all goes well, we should have him for the Fla game. Doucet on the other hand, dunno. I hope he gets well soon, but I think we've got enough options to win with or without him.

Even if Flynn plays Saturday,I hope they pull him out ASAP since high ankle sprains take time to heal. Hate to worsen a pre-exisiting injury. They should really take it easy on him while letting him maintain his touch. He is seriously needed for the Florida game.
