Am I reading the article wrong, or is Dubois a bit catty about things?

To me, that reads like it is debateable that LSU was the nation's premier program under Skip. It was at least in a group of top tier or premier programs, IMO. And I don't argue that baseball wasn't as dominant the last couple of years of Skip's tenure, but it sure as heck wasn't anything to be ashamed of!

    Also:

Helloooooo..... We are talking about two entirely different circumstances. No one disputes the winner of the CWS. The BS, however, is full of holes with competing polls!

Is Dubois now part of the media kissing Petey's ass?

The story makes some good points, but IMO, takes some pretty cheap shots.

Catty is one way of saying it.

Another way is condescending. He acts like an intellectual and treats LSU fans like idiots.

I quit reading his articles. Pretty soon everyone else in Baton Rouge will too and he'll be writing for the Shreveport paper (like another former Advocate sportswriter who thought he was smarter than his readers).

If he keeps writing crap like that in the home town newspaper, the next article may be about where he's gonna be in 2007? Defineitly does not sound like he's a Tiger fan!

What is it about journalist (sports writers in particular) that they feel like they must disagree with everyone based on their self-proclaimed "superior knowledge"? It pisses me off, quite frankly, and as an aspiring journalist/sports writer, it makes me want to puke... Then again, feature and opinionated pieces (editorials) are starting to make me sick... who in the hell cares about one person's opinion... editorials are NOT newsworthy and, IMO, do not belong in a newspaper... I personally can't stand reading them OR writing them... That says a lot being that I do work as a reporter and most reporters would kill for the opportunity...

EDIT: oops, looks like it's time for me to repay my dues...  :yelwink2:
