Big problem for the ducks. Three on Offense and six on the defense are First time starters in a game like this. Our offense should move the ball at will. Kelly has to be worried about 6 players on "D" starting for the first time.:helmet::crystal: Grasu and Mitchell will be redshirt freshmen making their collegiate debuts. The Ducks rotated 25 men on defense last year, the Oregon defensive players have a lot of game experiance. Most feel Oregon's D will be better this year. The Duck's offensive line is one of the areas that worries me. It is a rebuilt line, there is more talent now, but I fear it won't be clicking by Saturday.
This is where I've predicted since this game was announced will ultimately be the death of Oregon Saturday. I know from Alabama's recent experience it doesn't take but ONE weak link on the OL to destroy the entire thing. OL is about chemistry as much as it is about individual talent. The LSU D-Line (IMO) will eventually be too much (physically) for the ducks OL to handle. My prediction of this happening is about midways through the 3rd quarter.
I would normally agree with you regarding, "One weak link", but the Ducks style of offense helps protect that weak link somewhat. It's not a butting bulls type of style. It's more of a roll out, leave a defender by himself, on the wrong side of the field type of approach. If you're not familiar, watch some videos, it's different. The Ducks are probably going to be fine, they have one of the country's best line coaches, but this is the first game, so we could look bad. Hope not.
Hey GDF it's been pretty cool having you guys on our forum. I myself have only been registered for a couple months and this forum is way better than tiger droppings IMO. With the exception of a few, you guys have been pleasant, knowledgable and open. Def seem to have some good fans. Or the ones on here are at least. I know we are all chomping at the bit to get this game started. I just found out I have a ticket to the game and can't wait. I hope it's a classic but regardless, may the best team win. Here's to a successful season.....hopefully not TOO successful for you guys but successful;:yelwink2: Let's get the season started! :thumb: Go Tigers!
That video you speak of, are we talking about the Portland State game or Auburn. Which one do you feel would help us more fully grasp the full perspective of how your offensive line will play vs LSU?
UCLA, Washington, Stanford, USC These schools had bigger O lines than the Duck's had. Stanford, USC game replays are still at ESPN3.com huh, that's weird,...my sarcasm meter is jumping all over the place, ......
