I posted this elsewhere, but probably is more appropriate on this forum: Since Sep 4th is still too far away, here is my VERY early look at the top recruiting classes in the country so far for Signing Day 2005. Total # of commits follow team name and the number of 5* and 4* recruits. (compiled from data from Rivals100.com) Top 10 (just my opinion...): 1. Ohio St 7 (5*=2, 4*=3) (3 top 100 national recruits, they always get the top big nasty OL's) 2. Virginia 19 (5*=1, 4*=3) (impressive surprise and a program on the rise?) 3. LSU 8 (4*=6) (no rest for the weary... Saban & Co. get the job done again!) 4. Michigan 9 (5*=1, 4*=2) (recruits awed by those cool helmets? of course history and 100k fans on game day help...) 5. Texas A&M 12 (4*=3) (77-0 vs OU in 2003, OUCH!!, hopefully this helps some) 6. UCLA 7 (4*=3) (3 top 100 national recruits, outrecruiting that OTHER team from L.A.??) 7. Texas 7 (4*=4) (does it really matter? it's still Mack Brown) 8. Maryland 15 (4*=2) (leader for #1 recruit in nation??) 9. Tennessee 5 (4*=3) (commits from one of the top rated QBs & RBs in country) 10. Oklahoma 6 (4*=3) (will they lose that swagger after 2003 season ending? doubtful) SEC: 1. LSU 8 (4*=6) 2. Tennessee 5 (4*=3) (see above) 3. Florida 6 (4*=2) 4. UGA 4 (4*=2) 5. Arky 6 (4*=1) 6. Ole Miss 2 (4*=1) 7. Bama 4 8. Miss St 3 9. Kentucky 2 10. Auburn 1 (poor kitty kats, i mean war eagles, i mean plainsmen, i mean ...doh!!) 11. Vandy 1 12. S. Carolina 0 (old Lou could be in trouble!) Other teams of (dis)interest: Oregon St 3 (2 Cali QB's) USC 2 (5* QB & 1 K, sounds like they are really filling their needs, haha! i'm sure they'll finish strong though) Va Tech 7 (4*=1) (no good chickens, or is it turkeys? worthless either way) Indiana 2 (1 K, Geaux Gerry's kids!) your comments please...
