I just read an article on Glen Dorsey and when asked about leaving early he had this to say:

Maybe it's just BS but at least it sounds like there is a chance he'll be back.

Dorsey....go talk to Russell. Tell him he hasn't accomplished that much either, that he should come back also. Thanks.

I think the only thing that might make Russell return is that he would definitely be a leading Heisman Trophy candidate in 2007 and LSU has a favorable schedule for a NC run to give him high media exposure. That's pretty heady stuff. It ain't every day that a player has that opportunity.

Neither would I. Look, along the D-line, the guys that Dorsey has mentioned in interviews as people he wants to talk to about the decision to go pro or not were, Kyle Williams and Claude Wroten--both guys that stayed for their Sr. seasons.

Also, Marcus Spears, when he left LSU, was asked which player along the D-line would best fit Spears' attitude, dedication and performance, and he said, "Glen Dorsey".

Kyle Williams, Claude Wroten, Chad Lavalais and Marcus Spears. 4 of the most decorated and celebrated defensive linemen in recent LSU history (if not all-time) all had many of the same accomplishments/awards but the one that they ALL shared was that they played their Sr. year as LSU Tigers.

Dorsey is too much like those guys--and that's the biggest compliment, IMO, for a defensive lineman at LSU to receive.

    I believe he'll be back!

I'm seeing this sequence of events...
    1. LSU 45, Notre Dame 17
    2. Glenn Dorsey announces he'll be back
    3. Jamarcus Russell announces he'll be back
    4. LSU is the pre-season number 1 in 2007

One more favorite of mine: Bradie James. (though he is not a defensive lineman but along the same line as the other LSU greats)

Unfortunately, I think the AP will put the winner of USC-UM as preseason #1. I think we would defnitely be top 3 though.
