to all espn insider members http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/story?columnist=mcshay_todd&id=2049957 everyone else, I'll sum it up for you qb: no one, espn figures all three qb's should stick it out at LEAST another year. rb: although not listed in the top 5, addai and vincent are both listed as potential entries into the draft, while broussard isnt even mentioned wr: skyler green is mentioned though not in the top 5 te: david jones is listed t: whitworth g: livings DT: claude wroten and kyle williams are BOTH listed OLB: vaughn S: laron landry is the number 1 prospect at safety... that's a lot of players we could be losing :-\ also in another article, espn has lsu's depth at wide receiver listed as far superior to other wr groups and a lock for the best wide receivers of 05 AND 06
How can they be so informed when talking of the WRs, and yet be so horribly wrong by not even mentioning Broussard ...whether he enters the draft or not, he's likely our starter -and at the very least our returning yardage leader- yet he doesn't even get mentioned.
ESPN just isn't very smart. That is it. Broussard will be a top prospect, easily a first day pick whether he comes out this year or next.
I have a broussard jersey. It rocks. I just point to it when wearing it in front of other random SEC fans (Auburn,Bama,Tenn) Broussard will take the nation by storm... I just can't wait until CFN.com and SIsports.com start drooling over all the backs and wide receivers. Should be a great year... I also look for skyler green to turn it up and X-carter to turn some heads. Jeez, that kid is F-A-S-T....
I have no idea how good Broussard has been throughout spring practice, but he was definitely contained for the Spring scrimmage, so let's not name him the second comming of Jesus just yet. Miles has inferred that Addai will be the main back for us next year. We all know how talented Broussard is, but talent doesn't necessarily equate to being an early draft pick. He'll have to get the necessary amount of carries & show scouts what he's capable of. However, if we have the kind of year we're all hoping on we could have a few players leave early. That national press will bump up some players' stock & lure some of our guys out early. We also graduate quite a few players. The talent will be there waiting their turn, I just hope we retain some leaders that can hold the team together. One thing is for sure, next year's draft should certainly be better for LSU than this year.
I was at the game, and Vincent and Addai were easily the 2 best backs: Upon getting hired, Miles said he liked Vincent A LOT b/c of his 'big game ability' and Addai b/c catching it out the backfield: We will see
I think Vincent will have a big year. This o-line is as good as the one in 03, which is what Vincent needs.. he has the speed and the moves, but he needs big holes as he is a slashing type runner.
Broussard reminds me of Cecil the Diesel, a little bit! Anyone else think so? Don't forget Carey? He is back right?
