Mark May - Auburn is his #2 over OU Trev Albert - says Auburn is his #1, and the fight should be between USC and OU (which I agree with) Lee Corso - Auburn #2 (he's had them for a while if I am not mistaken) Kirk Herbstreit - finally came on board and placed Auburn in 2nd over OU I think this goes a long way in voters on the fence. Believe me, some of these people only have ESPN highlights and post game shows to go on to decide what to do. I don't think it makes enough difference for Auburn to get to #2 this week in the BCS, but I am almost certain the deficit has been cut in half once again. One more weekend of play for both teams and 2 more weeks of voting, and it will be just as close as LSU/USC was last year. You gotta love it. The BCS people don't. That's for sure.
Even though people dont like the system, it gets rating... people are watching games that they probly wouldnt watch just to see how the teams perform. BCS is a faulty system, but it pays the bills, only way to change it is to boycott the bowls which will never happen. And while on the topic of USC, they have a free pass this year b/c of last year... I believe some ABC telecasters broached that subject today, and I believe it.
May sound like a broken record, but I'd pick OU-AU and leave USC out. Nothing against USC, really. USC played in a weak conference and didn't exactly blow everyone away. Sound familiar? With the media types annointing USC #1 since preseason, it's been a foregone conclusion that they would be in the NCG unless they lost during the regular season. No one in L.A. really even cares. I hope UCLA can knock them off, but I doubt it.
Is it just me or has ESPN Gameday Finale not even shown any highlights of the LSU game ??? They sound like they are about to rap up ???? did I miss it ??
Seeing how USC is still "undefeated," I guess they have to get some respect. Seriously, they should be ranked no higher than 3rd and no lower than 4th. (I wonder if Utah might give them a run for their money at 11-0? )
