It really was a tough situation to handle but there is no way the truth was going to be swept under the rug. They should have fired her or let her resign immediately and told the truth. Either way I wouldn't say it was handled that badly just could have been handled a little better.

Hatred and derision toward's women's sports?? This contrasted, of course, with ESPN force-feeding us pseudo-basketball, with junk about "they've got next."

Where is this hating and derisive media? I'll be sure to bookmark their sites.

It sounds like LSU was trying to sort things out and had begun an informal investigation. The tournament would have played out before it finished and this could have been a quieter off-season resignation.

But when Pokey found out that LSU knew, she resigned immediately and threatened privacy lawsuits, catching Bertman off balance. Planning to coach the tourney was too much, though. LSU recovered quickly and she was out within hours.

i don't know what happened or the timing, but because of the privacy issues, there was no good way to handle this. the media and a lot of fans are in a snit because they aren't being told everything. sometimes, that just isn't possible.

Good Point. Due to Pokey's Civil Rights the University just cant go talking about issues in public or else they can be sued.

Law's have been passed lately that forbid employers discussing workers with anyone not directly involved.

if the ESPN reports are true, and it truly was an assistant that ratted on Pokey, then shame on her.

How can you work for 6-7 months with kids, only to slam the door in their faces just days before the big dance.
