Even if we were undefeated....

I'm very happy we won today, and this point may have been brought up, but let's say we were undefeated now. Since USC and Texas haven't budged from their spots, wouldn't we still be #3? Then we'd be feeling like Auburn last year.

Don't get me wrong. I hope USC or Texas screws up in the last game, but I can't help but think that even without the Tennessee loss, we'd be in the exact same position that we are now, except maybe #3 in the BCS poll.

Your thoughts?

I agree. Especially since our SOS has gone in the crapper. The 2 point thrashing of Arkansas on national TV wouldn't have helped either, having almost blown a 16 point lead after the first drive of the second half.:angry:

 

We could have won every game by 30 and if UT/USC don't lose, we'd be in the same position.

 

tough to say. maybe someone can plug some #s into a formula to figure it out but i wouldnt be so surprised if LSU would have passed TX. LSU would have gotten so much more respect for beating UF, Auburn and Bama had they not lost to UT and gotten out of the natl spotlight. also, TX will play a much weaker opp in conf cg (Iowa St) than UGA.

 

unless you forgot Iowa beat LSU last year in the bowl game so dont go as far as saying that they are weaker than GA. they are a strong team....we both have our work cut out for ourselves.

 

texas will play iowa state not Iowa. Different teams. The cyclones have really came on strong lately!

 

Did any USC fans bitch about some of that teams close wins this year?

People need to learn how to deal with what is and quit wondering about what might have been or what could be.

What is is 10-1 and SEC West Champions. What it could have been is watching Auburn play Georgia on TV next Saturday night.

I am very happy for the departing seniors that they won their last game in Tiger Stadium; otherwise it would have been a depressing way to end their season.

The key is to start focussing and stepping up their play for the SEC Championship. They worked too hard to let that slip by. Actually I think the ugly win today may set the players up to bounce back and play better next weekend. I am quite sure they will. On the other hand, if they had an easy win today, they may get a tad complaisant preparing for the SECCG.
