why do you feel we lost the game? Everyone is trying to be really overly positive, why don't we try an analytical approach.
Georgia simply outplayed us. It looked like we weren't ready for this game at all. Mistakes were made on both sides of the ball and the penalties really hurt us.
Physically and mentally outmatched, more than anything. Too many mistakes, but more than anything, the guys just didn't seem to play with confidence.
1. we had no running game, which allowed Georgia to rush the passer 2. secondary looked awful, losing Daniels hurt a lot 3. field position killed us...where was the Skyler factor? 4. penalties, penalties, penalties
TigerFan23 hit the nail on the head. The Dawgs just beat us in all phases of the game. That and others have written, we didn't appear to have any spark.
I'll take a stab at it... - poor special teams play - lack of discipline that lead to penalties, the late hit out of bounds, silly late block by Rudy, etc etc. - holding penalties that ended drives. - not having a back that can pick up the blitz. - turnovers Basically for the second time in a row against Georgia, LSU has been shellshocked from the opening snap....
Georgia's first two touchdowns took advantage of the Tigers aggressive defense that reacted too fast and got sucked into their play fakes that allowed their receivers to open up. No question Georgia was the better team tonight. The loss of Addai, and Daniels limited the offense. Had Broussard been available, it could have been more interesting...............Well, I guess it is one of those things. ________ Body science
KTeam, you are probably right. I'm still shell shocked by it. I don't know if the answer lies in the coaches or not, but the team was completely flat from the first quarter to the end. Proud of them. yes, need to find out the answers and fix it, yes.
11 straight weeks of football. Emotion and adrenaline only carry you so far, eventually the tank hits empty. We saw it start last week, and by kickoff tonight, they were running on fumes. The break between now and the bowl game, will be a huge relief for this team.
1. Mental breakdowns by the team. OT Johnson let his quarterback get sacked on the first series and it went downhill from there. Two TD bombs because our DB's bite onthe run fake or the pump fake and let a receiver get open long. The punter fails to make the check-off pass to the wide open gunner and the punt gets blocked. Russell was not on the money with his passing game. The Center cost us a TD with a hold. 2. Key injuries. Daniels out at safety, Addai and Vincent both hobbled with injuries, and then we lose our starting QB. 3. Georgia wanted it worse than the Tigers. The humiliation of the 2003 SECCG really haunted the Bulldogs and last years revenge game did not square it with them. They really needed to beat LSU in the Dome in the SECCG. And they did. I didn't really see much to blame on the LSU coaches. The players never gave them a chance to implement a game plan. This kind of game happens from time to time to a team, even to Nick's teams.
