Good Day LSU Tiger Family...I am stuck in Illinois and wondering when Fan Day is this year so I can schedule my pilgrimage to Tiger land. I have not missed a fan day in a long time and do not plan to this year. You know there are so many haters out there. I travel the Midwest and so may people give me crap over my LSU appeal I wear proudly. Last, Friday night I had to tell a drunk he’s never experienced a coon ass pissed off. There are two things in my life you don’t disrespect, (1) My children, and (2) My Tigers. If anybody knows anything about fan day please e-mail me at [email protected] I would like to see the Tigers schedule more Big Ten teams, so I can shut some folks up. Go TIGERS. undefined
yea busybee I hear ya. I live in N. Ky. and commute to work in S. Ohio. The Ohio State fans I work with know without a doubt who my team is. The knowledgeable college football fans around here don't like it but they pretty much know LSU is not a one time National Champion. They read the papers, they know Saban is "the man". The great thing about Brett's tigerforums is that for people like you and me and the rest of the displaced tiger fans around the country and world we can sit here and feel like we are home even if it's for a little while and in our living rooms. For all Tiger fans who are away from home, I say: GIVE EM' HELL! GO TIGAHS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am in pac ten country.... I have heard more USC from the pac fans and how great the pac 10 is if USC was 7-4 who whould be leading the conf???cal???? come on..... :champs:
I live in Austin and a lot of people here think that the Big XII is the toughest conference in the nation. Seriously, they say it with a straight face! I will concede time and again that Texas is the best 10 win team in the country but Mack Brown is no Saban. Mack consistently gets out coached and beaten by any team that UT can't overpower with talent alone.
It's funny, because I can remember when Mac Brown was an assistant at LSU and he was considered a really good offensive coach. Hell, we all wanted him to be the next coach at LSU. Then he goes to Tulane, does well (for Tulane). He goes to North Carolina, does well (for North Carolina), and then goes to Texas where he has all the talent in the world, but can't quite make it to the top. Maybe he's the football version of Dale Brown. Great recruiter, great motivator. Gets a scrappy team to play above their heads. But can't coach the truly talented to the highest level. On the other hand, he may yet pull it all together and make a run. He's been awfully close several times.
I give him credit for putting the pieces in place from an administrative and recruiting point of view but he's not very good at the game day "chess game" and making on field adjustments. At least he was smart enough to go out and hire NFL experience that, for his sake, may compensate for his weaknesses on the sideline. For me, Mack is a constant reminder of how lucky LSU is to have a coach like Saban who can recruit, develop players, motivate them, and then put them in position to make plays.
UT fans here in Austin do not give LSU any respect. They said we would get trounced by OU in the Sugar. That we wouldn't beat GA a 2nd time. UT fans suck and they know it.
You're right about that. I moved to Austin 4 yrs ago and have seen a lot of wind knocked out of their sails due to Stoops' taking them to the wood shed every Oct. The National Championship talk has been replaced by very cautious optimism about beating OU. However, most of my friends give LSU a LOT more respect than they did last year.... as they should. Except that they are convinced that they will sign Perrilloux because of playing time.
