I just secured tickets to the Championship game. Problem is, I now can't find a hotel to save my life! I found one, with a minimum 5 night stay. I need Sunday the 8th and Monday the 9th. Driving back home (TX) on Tuesday. Is anyone going to maybe doesn't mind sharing a room? Would cut down your cost of what I'm sure was a pricey rate. It is just me and my best friend, traveling from San Antonio. My family is LSU alumni, I actually lived off Nicholson Dr. for 3 years, on LSU campus, while my mother completed her Masters Degree. Anyhow, I realize nobody knows me here and this is a shot in the dark. But it is at least a shot. Feel free to message me with any questions you might have. Any assistance in this is MUCH appreciated!! :geaux: :crystal: :geaux:
If you can't find one, look for a room across the causeway, or even in Mississippi, not that far of a drive.
I heard in the local news in Baton Rouge that the hotels here are offering packages, some even with a one night stay minimum and bus transportation. I heard the new Renaisance Hotel by Marriott in Baton Rogue being mentioned............
I live in Slidell and it takes me 35 minutes to get to the Dome. We don't have any large and/or fancy hotels...but we have quite a few hotels located near the interstates (I-10 & I-12) for use by those who just need a place to sleep and shower. Hampton Inn Holiday Inn Homewood Suites (new) Candlewood Suites (new) Best Western LaQuinta Comfort Inn Sllep Inn Super 8 Motel 6 Days Inn It's not as nice as walking back to your hotel...and it's not a good option if you're drinking a lot...but for an inexpensive room within 30 miles...it's not bad. There are tons of options for food, etc. within minutes of these hotels. Stop by "Geaux for the Gold" on Gause Blvd. & I-10 if you need any last minute LSU items. They've got a good selection.
New Orleans bed and breakfast & inns. Find the perfect New Orleans B&B lodging on BedandBreakfast.com. Have you tried these? I can vouch for a lot of them. Take a look and if you have any questions just ask. The Chimes is in my neighborhood and I could ask them this afternoon if you want.
