I provided a side-by-side with the other polls for comparison. There are a few differences here and there, but not any glaring ones. Just thought I'd check in with an update for all the LSU fans here who have participated or kept up with it.
so why was their a glaring difference at the top of it at the end of the 2004 season. all the other polls had USC number 1, however this poll had auburn number 1. i think that is a glaring difference
Because last year it was a simple webpoll, anonymous, with nothing to prevent multiple votes. It was a lark. And mostly only Auburn fans knew about it until near the end. This year procedures are in place to mitigate that kind of thing and really get the pulse of fanbases from as many of the Division I-A schools as possible. There are almost 3400 fans from almost every D-1A school in the country involved now.
I like it - at least one poll should reflect the fans attitudes instead of the media, who will always be biased to certain schools for different reasons.
