My father went down to N.O. and LaPlace yesterday. We have a pontoon boat and they had asked for them to come help. He helped about 20 people in LaPlace. They then sent him to N.O. in the Lakeview area. He said Kenner is pretty dry at this point. He also said in meterie it didn't get to bad around the interstate until the causeway exit. He said anything on the side away from the lake is dry at this point. Also pretty much anything from vets to the interstate is dry now too. There are whole neighborhoods in meterie that didn't get any water damage. Also said its not that bad except for the water.

In the lakeview area he said that you can barely see the tops of the single story houses. He said that there are many dead in that area. They saw 6 bodies floating by and also put red X's on the doors of 5 houses each with more then one person inside dead. He said he would expect atleast a thousand dead just from seeing the impact first hand.

In that area he helped over 75 people. They made everybody get on except one older white man who was on his balcony of his 2 story house. They just gave him water and he didn't wanna leave because he said he was having to much fun watching all that sh*t happen. They helped many out of there attics in that area also.

Also he was shot at a couple times in the Meterie area. He was with a Wildlife and Fisheries agent and a JP sheriff officer. He said that the JP sheriff told them on the radio to shoot to kill those f**kers and F**k them do what you gotta do. When they were shot at the WL&F and Sherrif Officer fired AR-15's back in the direction of where the fire was coming from.

I hope this helps some of ya'll get an idea of what is going on down there.

Thanks for the information. It is a shame that your dad is just trying to help and gets shot at. As sad as it is I am quite happy to hear that they can shoot those wannabe thugs back.
