So looking for something to DVR today to watch tonight and saw that Annie (the 1982 movie)was on. This by far was one of my favorite movies growing up. Others included Bye, Bye Birdie, both Greases, Calamity Jane, My Fair Lady, and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. Watched them all way too many times to count!

My favorite older movie now is still probably Breakfast at Tiffanys

when i was younger my parents would tape movies for my sister and where i would watch movies i liked like star wars, the toy, the goonies, etc. once or twice, my sister would watch movies over and over and over.

i say this b/c "annie" was one of those movies so was "bedknobs and broomsticks", "the wizard of oz" and Mary poppins and many others and they are all burned into my memory.

i really liked the john hughes movies growing up (breakfast club, 16 candles, and weird science)

but if i had to pick two, i'd pick star wars and ferris bueller's day off.

Dang it forgot about Bedknobs and Broomsticks Loved that one also and I have to agree with Wizard of oz and Mary Poppins also.

I liked the John Hughes movies also but got into those more in high school.

Growing up, it was probably Top Gun. As far as my favorite old movie, I guess it would have to be 12 Angry Men.

I love the musicals: Calamity Jane, Oklahoma, My Fair Lady, Singing in the Rain, Bandwagon, White Christmas.

Dramas would include Amadeus, The Ten Commandments, The Agony and the Ecstacy and Ben Hur.

Comedy: It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World; Who Was That Lady; No Time for Sergeants.

Westerns: Winchester 73; Tombstone; How the West Was Won.

War Flicks: To Hell and Back; The Longest Day, Tora, Tora,
Tora, Midway (although this is the one film I think would have been better had they left out Heston's role).

I never liked Wizard of Oz, the flying monkeys really scared me. I was kinda skittish like that...the Oompa Loompas creeped me out in Willy Wonka. I guess that tends to happen when one of the first movies you remember seeing at the theater is The Shining.

For some reason, the movies that stand out to me are Cannonball Run, Smokey and the Bandit and Bad News Bears (I can watch that one numerous times still today). My Bodyguard and The Outsiders were two of my favorites...damn, can't forget about Meatballs either.
