Saban won the Big 10 - Les Miles finished one spot ahead of Baylor in the Big 12. I hope to learn more about him very soon...

You might want to practice what you preach. The way I remember it, based upon the accolades he received from his peers in the coaching community, and a 9-2 record that final season at Mich. St., most people thought Nick Saban was an excellent hire.

I thought Michigan State was Big Ten co-champs in 1998 - I don't know for sure. Either way, MSU had one of its best seasons in my lifetime...

That's right...we should judge a coach on a single season! Excellent rational, BB.

We shouldn't want Petrino either! He's a CUSA coach! Remember Hallman!?

We shouldn't want Tedford because he's a PAC10 coach, and the PAC10 is so over rated.

We shouldn't want Del Rio because he's NEVER coached in college and doesn't know diddly-poo about recruiting

We shouldn't want Jimbo because he's nevr been a head coach...

Can we all STOP being arse holes!!! Damn! The negativity is making me sick!

    No, they weren't.

Michigan State went 4-4 in the Big 10 that year and finished 4th-5th

I really think some of you are mentally retarded - I can form an opinion about the coaches being considered and I can then share those opinions with you. Les Miles is not very high on my list. So what? You have your list - I have my list - Skip has THE list...

My issue is with how quickly this is happening. Les Miles' season is over. Recruiting is in a dead period - what is the rush?
