made a 3 day weekend out of and took a drive to the camp to set a few stands back up hunt and maybe fish a little. tried to fish friday morning but found it blowing way to hard for the little skiff so went and did most of the treestand stuff friday instead. found a nice clean clear spring fed water hole about 20x40 yards in size that the deer were really going to hard since everything else is bone dry. even creeks that i have never seen dry are just totally dried out. Hunted there friday evening last about 2 hours of light and only saw snakes. after dark walked along the edge of it and killed 8 big cottonmouths. Was able to fish Saturday and filled a box up with some really fine crappie all 14 to 17 inches while listening to LSU game on the radio. That made for one heck of a good day no pics though this time got back to the camp late after going to eat a big steak and just cleaned em in a hurry. Yesterday woke up to even more wind than Friday so no more fishing and to hot to want to hunt so had a little bridge over a creek needed some repair and needed more shooting lanes cut by my favorite stand so took care of all that and headed on back home. hopefully run back up there Friday evening this time just to bow hunt Sat and Sun with this cooler weather coming saying lows in the 40s highs in the 60s so def want to go sit in a tree for that
