The funniest thing I ever heard in all of this was: "Michigan was an onside kick away from beating Ohio State". Just read it 2 or 3 times if you have to. That statement is really remarkable and utterly ridiculous. Not sure who said it, it was definitely someone on TV today (probably during the USC broadcast). Had it not been for Ohio State turnovers, Michigan would have never been close. They gave up 500 yards. They had to drive the length of the field in the final minutes just to make it a 3 point loss. Ohio State went into prevent defense to force Michigan to run time off the clock (which worked for its intended purpose), which allowed Michigan to score an make it much more respectable.
The first game was in Columbus. I think Michigan will give OSU a run for their money on a neutral field. If it's Florida I don't think it's close.
That quote came from the mouth of the all-knowing Kirk Herbstreit. I had to hit the "10-second rewind" button on my DVR about 150 times. Finally, my wife just says, "Yeah, he said it." Then 10 minutes later he rips Arkansas as having no chance in the SEC Champ game and says they shouldn't even show up for the game. Then he picks them to win at the end of the show - at which point, I took a whole bottle of Motrin to make my head stop spinning.
Florida played the toughest schedule, Michigan has the 3rd toughest schedule. The SEC champ should get the nod over a conference runner-up. I know it would end our Rose Bowl dreams if Florida gets to the NC game, but I don't want to see the SEC get screwed again. Playing ND in the Sugar would be a great consolation to the Rose Bowl.
If Florida gets to the National Championship game I will pull for the SEC team, but I can honestly say I am not gonna pull for them to go right now and us not gonna get to go to the Rose Bowl gam. I have a hard time pulling for other teams when it comes to  not getting what they deserve either. :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige
I hear ya. I'm concerned about all the anti-SEC sentiment from the ESPN/ABC machine that could potentially hurt our chances at an NC game in the future. If it can happen to Auburn and Florida, it can happen to us. I don't want that to happen to us next year.:thumb:
I do want LSU to go to the Rose Bowl but that was when I thought they would play Michigan. Now I'm mixed in my feelings because I'm sick of the SEC getting screwed by the computers. The Sagarin ratings are very biased to the Pac-10 and even the Big 10. The SEC gets screwed in that rating scheme. Even Korso and the announcers on CBS for the SECCG said that UF had the harder schedule in a conference which is the best in the country. Yet I've seen Sagarin put 7 Pac-10 teams in the Top 10 strongest schedule rankings a couple of weeks ago.
Is it possible that if UF went to the NCG that the Rose would still take LSU against USC? Or would they stick with the Pac-10 Big 10 combo? I think having the LSU fans reserve 30,000 tickets will help their cause in getting to the Rose Bowl, in order to show the Rose officials that LSU is passionate and would fill the place up. I would really like to play UM but if UM goes to the NCG, UF to Sugar, then I wouldn't mind playing USC.
