That's a poor example. You can't compare Flynn(never played
Actually it's a perfect example. I was not comparing Randall to Flynn. I was just saying that to say that Randall "just doesn't have it" over his performance 2 years ago was about as accurate as if you said Flynn doesn't have it after his performance last week. My point was not to compare Randall and Flynn, but to compare the fairness of your evaluation. Both are ridiculous at this point, so it's a perfect example.
Again, it's a perfect example. You're right, Green has proven himself, and yet even he didn't have a good game against Oregon State. Our team in general just didn't play well that night. No one on the field looked impressive in the first half against Oregon State, including Green, who basically handed them 7 points. So it's a perfect example.
My point is, you can't overlook the rest of the teams poor showings against OSU, but use the first half of the game as proof positive that Randall "doesn't have it". If you don't use that, you have to go back to last year, where he basically only had mop up duty (see what I said about Flynn above). Okay, so if you can't use that to prove your point, what do you have? The 6 games he started 2 years ago, when he was young, completely inexperienced, and thrown into the starting job against the toughest part of our SEC schedule. And even if you do, he didn't do that bad. He went 2 and 4, and that's not really that bad under those circumstances. Yes the Kentucky game was a hail mary, but he actually played pretty well, and we were leading most of the game, and our defense let them back in it. Plus, don't forget the Arkansas game, when we would have won except for the blown pass coverage in the final minute.
So no, I don't think we've seen quite enough to get an accurate and FAIR assessment of his ablilities as a QB. Not enough to say that he "just doesn't have it".
