LSU-Alabama BCS title game rematch hysteria masking great game - Stewart Mandel - SI.com

I loved the statement below :).

....LSU vs. Alabama, (BCS Championship Game), Jan. 9: The game hasn't even been played and the SEC has already won its sixth straight national title. Ah, but an SEC team will also lose a BCS title game, staining its thus-far spotless 7-0 record in the Big One. Finally, the voters found someone to beat the SEC.

Ha! I love that bama will be the team to take on this dubious distinction. So fitting.

    01-10-12 Headline News:

Alabama became the first SEC team to lose a BCSNCG. Talks are in progress for Tulane to replace Alabama in the SEC. A Tulane spokesman was quoted as saying, "Well, I can promise you that Tulane will never lose a BCSNCG."

Ha. Love it. Of course there could be a tie (and I know that's extremely unlikely) but it is a bit presumptuous to predict something that has a possibility of not happening.

    Highly impossible.
College football overtime guarantees that the game will not end in a tie. An unlimited number of possessions are possible until the game is over.

Btw way, trivia for today. Who has the record for most overtime periods played? Would you believe that TWICE Arkansas played 7 and won both? Vs. Ole Miss in 2001 and Kentucky in 2003.

Not to mention getting close to 7 in 2007 vs. LSU. What was it, 5?

Oh I know, but it is remotely possible. Just thought his article presumed an awful lot on many levels.

    You must remember

Les has said this LSU is a History maker ,

And we know the team that loses will make history . As the Only SEC Team to lose a BCSNCCG . I hope this LSU team does not make history . Don't you ?
