Varies but this one has been going on for a few weeks already and should be ruled on at the end of the week.
I don't know. While we are having a string of bad news, this doesn't have the doom and gloom feel that the whole Shady's incident had last season. Maybe we are spoiled but I think the team will rally and have a renewed desire to prove itself because of our losses. It will take more than this to rock my confidence in this team.
The bottom line is that the students need to be ultimately responsible for their own academic performance.
With the tools that athletes have available to them, like the Academic Center and personal tutoring (all of it free), there really is no excuse.
And life in general. So far, Miles has stood the test and made good decisions that promote the best interest of his football team, long term. Otherwise, it takes just a few looks the other way to put a product like Georgia and Tennessee on newspaper headlines throughout the season. Michigan just reinstated two star players just in time for the Bama game. Toussiant a running back was arrested for drunk driving on July 21st and his partner in crime, D-end Frank Clark, who is sporting a felony charge of home invasion. Apparently both in the past couple of weeks since this occurred have learned their lesson well and have rehabilitated enough to play against the Tide. Drew Sharp of the Detroit Free Press said it best when he referred to the decision as a "conviction of convenience." Michigan is calling this game the biggest since their 1998 NC game. So be it, but Michigan was right there with Penn State with their sanctimonious talk about always doing the right thing while others tried to win ball games today. Look who just joined the masses? How convenient.
After thinking about it, I'd have to say you're right. I guess it just irks me that anyone would need someone to hold their hand. Take care of business! Sheesh!
