This is the problem with Crowton's offense. Multiple formations with few plays out of each. Also, there are certain plays for certain backs. Hmmmm, I wonder what they are going to do next. I don't think the defense ever has to guess what we are going to do, because we practically tell them.
I don't see us doing that as strictly as it was used the last 2 years now that Porter is gone. Porter was a freak about that and he and Crowton bumped heads over it.
I have said on multiple posts that Ford will be a beast. He will be our best offensive option, and by midseason the coaches will have no choice but to continue to increase his touches.
I mentioned this in another thread. We didn't really know who Charles Scott was until the Kentucky game in '07, and then we hardly saw him again until after Hester left. In '06, after Broussard and Vincent struggled to run the ball, it wasn't until mid-to-later in the season that we got to see more of Hester and Keiland. I hope Ford gets the lion share of the carries this year, especially if he is as good as we all think he'll be. I remember reading on here last week that when it came to the WRs, their positions were up for grabs, in order to encourage competition and production. I hope the same goes for the RBs this year.
Scout has Ford at 4.49 http://recruiting.scout.com/a.z?s=73&p=8&c=1&nid=3107817 Rivals has 4.56 http://rivals.yahoo.com/lsu/footbal...-Ford-60857;_ylt=ArgWnO.ekKf9kjBvAXZk5jGTsZB4 From what I've seen, he's going to be a north and south runner. Here is what 2007 looked like: LSU - Cumulative Season Statistics
WE WILL RUN THE DAMN BALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! JUST HOPE FORD CAN LIVE UP TO THE NAME (FIRST ON RACE DAY). BOOOYA
I think he'll be a beast - but I think Shep is LSU's best offensive weapon. Hope they use him correctly. I have a feeling they will.
