At the end of the first half, I kept commenting on how this game seemed like the Tennessee one.... I noted that if we score on our first drive of the 2nd half, that we would win. The stadium would quiet, and our D would step up.

We did so, and all the momentum went in our favor. The stadium just never got as loud as it did in the 1st half. The Tide O did absolutely nothing, and we went into OT... won the toss, played towards Bama's student section, forced them to take a FG, and we scored to win by 3.....

I just thought it was really funny how everything paralleled our UT loss. Was anyone else thinking this in the 2nd half?

Playing on the road in a big time SEC game.. You have to weather the storm early and get through it because they are going to throw everything they have at ya.

I did not think about the UT game but I did feel confident going into the half down 10-0.

  3. I thought the same thing last night.

i will admit, i was shell shocked after the way Bama put it to us in the first half. They went away from what was winning for them (running to the outside and the draw play when we blitzed).

Yes, I thought about the UT game at halftime. The way we went up, and thought that we controlled the game.

But, I also felt very, very good about our chances in overtime. Between the way our D was playing at that stage in the game and the way JR was throwing the ball, I knew we could stop them and score a TD.

I was happy we were down at the half. I thought if they scored more than 10 on us though that we might not be able to make it up. We play a lot better when we are down. The bama fans around me acted like they had already won the game. My girlfriend was worried but i told her thats why they have two halves.

I was pretty confident going into halftime that we would come back and win the game.

Of course I also thought we were going to come from behind against UGA last year too.

I had almost given up... Bama seemed like they were on their way to playing a perfect game... But then I saw a little glimmer of hope..

We sacked Croyle the last two plays of the half.... The defense had one last thing to say before the half.... I knew they were going to come out of the locker room fired up....

By the way, if anyone at the game noticed.... The Bama announcer did not say Croyle got "sacked"... he was simply "tackled behind the line of scrimmage" 5 times...

im trying to teach myself to keep a level head at halftime. in big games alot can happen in one half. all it takes is momentum change and the slightest thing can trigger momentum. this is a nail biting season, hope the next two weeks go as planned so i can recooperate for the secc.

I have to admit I was a little concerned at halftime for the simple fact that Ala. was running the ball successfully; especially on the same play the Aub. tore us up on (toss to the outisde from the bunch formation) and this coaching staff hadn't proved they could make successful adjustments. Last night proved me wrong.
