Why are WR's having problems with the most important fundamental of their position? Catching!!! I know Lafell has most of the drops in the game and thank goodness Miles had the guts to sit him in the 2nd half. He should've been sitting in the 1st half after the UK performance. You can't keep giving him PT if he isn't catching. I like Lafell and he has gotten into a funk the last several games and he will come out of it eventually. But you can't keep giving him PT. Another issue that will bite us are the drops on punt returns. Fundamentals again are failing us. I realize we haven't had Doucet but just tell the returner to fair catch it and don't worry about returning it. Focus on the catch only. The squib kicks on kick offs, why does a front line guy reach up and tip the ball and why do 280lb second line blockers try to run the ball? I don't want to just be completely negative but these types of basics will lose another game for us, like it already has with the dropped passes. Look these things will happen but they happen way too consistently for LSU this season. The players had to over come some bad situations that the coaches put us in, other players put us in, and all the credit goes to them. Matt Flynn stepped up big time and a less than 100% Doucet and Byrd stepped up big time.
