If it looks anything like the illustrations, it will be amazing. Go to Trahan Architects, click on "Architecture," then on "08." The first few images are for Alex Box (ignore those later pictures of Jordan-Hare). You can also check out images of Tiger Stadium present and future under "07."
Hey KTeam, any idea on if that plan for Alex Box is a sure thing. I know they were looking into either renovating or building a new one and hadn't heard if anything had been decided. Also, if that is the plan for a new Alex Box, is there a timeline?
I really like the plans for the BOX. Tiger Stadium i'm not so happy with.... It looks ok but you lose the whole colliseum look that you once had. Now its only visible on the 2 endzone sides. Loses a little of the old aura/mystique if you ask me. Oh well, it will still be great.
The baseball stadium won't be for at least 4 years. They are first going to start building the new softball stadium real soon.
Nice design, but the elevated view that is shown is not what you will see walking outside the stadium or, obviously, in it... You probably wouldn't ever see that stadium like that... ..which is probably the best design view there is... SELL IT BABY!!!!!
I think they plan to start renovations on the Box in 2008. But they are also looking into open property to build the nex Alex Box, or so I heard. Just rumor mill at the moment but I came across the plans on another site. If I here anything else, more concrete I will let everyone know.
It looks nice, went to TAF to see if they had made the plans concrete yet and they haven't. They must still be studying the different proposals.
One drawing of the new Alex Box show it in the same position as it stands now at the corner of Bertman and Nicholson. But the campus master plan calls for it to be built next to a new softball complex across the tracks behind the new football center. It's going to need that kind of room, by the looks of the drawing.
