That was a report from yesterday, and considering that the storm looks like it will be past Auburn by tomorrow....I would say there is no way that they postpone it. The game is on!
I just hope that this is a wise choice... Traffic congestion, road repairs, motel, hotel damages. water, gas shortages. A lot of bad things can happen from these storms. I hope our fans go in rv's or you may run into problems. We may have a "lite" crowd at the game Saturday. Hope all goes well for everyone but I don't think it was wise having any games in Alabama this soon.
Don't get me wrong, I don't think it is a good decision, but I know there is no way Tubby is going to move it to Nov 6th. This is exactly what I would expect from them. What is more important to them, the saftey of fans and family or having the advantage in a big football game?
"There's nothing we can do if we have half a stadium full or whatever." [/B]This is so typical of Teletubby's arrogance and total lack of concern for anyone but himself. Instead of just saying "We're expecting to play the game until we're told different" and leaving it at that he spouts off this garbage. He is a total lack of character, has no common concern about his fellow Alabamans. When a storm or event of this magnitude comes about, football becomes secondary and even tertiary but not for ole Tub-o-crap. Basically he's saying he's more concerned about not having to face LSU at the end of the year, instead of showing concern and compassion for the people of Alabama and the fans of Auburn University. What a classless jerk!
Granted, the coastal areas are badly damaged, but that is to be expected with any major storm. That being said, this storm was not nearly as destructive as the Weather channel had everyone convinced. If it is safe and feasible, the game will be played. Simple as that.
And without power and tornado warnings out til noon Friday, there is zero chance of a safe travel for a visiting team. You're dismissed ... again
I'm sure this has been brought up but just in case...........if things are bad at Auburn how about offering to play the game at Baton Rouge instead of moving the date?
How do you know that the areas affecting travel will not have power at the times necessary to travel? Zero chance, huh? Quick, pick me some winning lotto numbers Carnac.
