I've always gone to Big Woodrow's for the games, but frankly I don't see the attraction so many have to the place. Beer is horribly expensive on football weekends and, frankly, the food isn't that good. I've heard of other places (Nick's Place off of Richmond, SRO-1960) where LSU fans get together for game watches. Reviews of how these other, non Woodrow's locations are on gameday are most welcome. (PS-I still haven't ruled out going into the "belly of the Beast", so to speak, and going to SRO-NW Mall, where the Hou. area AU Alums meet. Kinda feel like kindred spirits with those LSU fans who brave the clogged highways to make the trip to the Plains amidst all that orange and blue).
not sure but it sure sucks to watch at a place where the sound of a game is either off or too low or theres ppl constantly walking in front of you. Find a place with a nice screen, plenty of room, lots of sound, some LSU groupies and ice cold beer. Then if you can be choosy, ice cold cheap beer and good food. In texas you should be able to get some good salsa and 100 lbs of free chips to hold you over.
Who in Austin is going to Shoal Creek Saloon for Saturday's game? Sorry to hijack the thread, but I figured Austin people would probably be looking in. Shoal Creek is pretty cool place. They have a big screen in the back where the hard core fans gather and we had an awesome time for the SEC CG last year.
Here is my 2 cents I think we should try to get a good group of the Texas people together and start a new Texas tailgating tradation
Yeah I have to this weekend my wife broke her big toe in four places and has to have surgery tommorrow, so Yeah I'm gonna be at home but since she isn't gonna be able to walk or work for the next few months, I won't be making anymore games in BR. So maybe this can be the start of trying to get something started for say the UGA and Fl games and whatever other games people around here can't make. There isn't much here at Ft Hood as for as sports bars go but I would come down to Austin or Houston if there are some great places to go. I think we should try to get something going that would kind of make it feel like home.
It's a bar, so almost everyone will be drinking....I don't drink so you can easily find me....I will have nothing in my hands I didn't eat the time I went cuz I was too damn nervous and excited watching the SEC CG I wouldn't bring my kids.
K, thanks for the info as the game gets closer I'll get the directions from ya so I can find the damn place.
