Doesn't surprise me. anyone who loves opposing fans who "bring it all day" is going to have a great time and leave full of beer and jambalaya. I forget what a draw NO can be for the out of towners. That must make for a hell of a road trip. Nice to see the game day atmosphere itself also gets some rightful praise.
Yea but it sucks. People should come here because it's LSU and we have the BEST tailgaiting in the country, NOT because New Orleans is an hour down the road. :hihi: Disregard that, I forgot that I wasn't giving any insight toward my own opinion on this board...
Interesting, nice comments from the gayters. I've been to Gainesville 5 times and I would say it ranks close to last. Tailgating is almost nonexistent until about 1.5 hours prior to the game. The stadium atmosphere and crowd noise is impressive though. The students always act like asses :angryfire My favorite away trip was the SECCG against Georgia. HATT was kickin, frostbite and all. My favorite SEC road trip is Tuscaloosa. I need more Tiger fans to camp with me at Lake Lurleen State park for that weekend, it's north of Tuscaloosa.
Lake Lurleen is actually very popular with AU fans. It's proximity to Tuscaloosa and the heavily wooded countryside makes it a convenient organization point for guerilla attacks into the heart of the Capstone. Remember, AU fans pull for LSU over Bama. Several years ago a severely intoxicated AU fan happened to be passing through the camp ground on the weekend we were in. He miraculously survived a fall into our blazing campfire with only soot on his shirt and without spilling a drop of his adult beverage. This only temporarily redirected his profanity from Bama to the fire. So many memories....
