Sorry if this is double post I did not see anything about it. I feel so bad for them :hihi: GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The Gators' 2006 BCS National Championship trophy may be broken, but fans don't need to worry. A new one is on its way. Florida's operations and facilities director Chip Howard says the trophy had been sitting on a coffee table in one of the stadium's sky boxes during a move to a new spot. But when the table was bumped Friday, the trophy fell. The trophy was insured and will be replaced. The new Waterford crystal trophy should reach Gainesville in 90 days. There is also another backup. Howard says the school had ordered a second trophy when they won the championship. That one was on display Saturday before the spring game.
OMG...Can you imagine if Alabama were to win a BCS championship? They would probably order 50 trophies and display all of them. Can they purchase one for the 2008 Rivals recruiting championship? :hihi:
Can you imagine what it must have been like to be the poor sap that knocked the thing over? At least until they told him it was insured? I wonder if there was some SOB with a cruel sense of humor to look him dead in the eye and say,"that's coming out of your paycheck."?
I think those things cost 30K. Probably makes the insurance companies nervous when the sweaty coaches and players hands hoist it after the championship game.
