I took my d-n-law and grandkids to the game Sat. I kept telling them how much they would enjoy the band coming down the hill to the stadium. When they came down, they never played a note. Usually they are as fired up as the rest of us. NOTHING-----THEY DID NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would rather have watched all the other fans for entertainment. Whomever made that decision has thrown away a wonderful Tiger tradition.:angryfire :angryfire :angryfire
I'll have to look that thread up. We did enjoy. I had four on the fifty. Thought buying two more at the stadium would be no problem. All the ticket office had were singles. Same section but single tickets. Walked my ole fat crippled butt out to the RV section. Used to be able to walk close to the stadium partying. There is a fence there now. Parking is terrible..... In the RV section, I talked to several nice people. No tickets. But after maybe 15 min. a guy walked up to me and said, "I can help you." He had media tickets which were white and plain compared to the regular tickets. He also had regular tickets. I took a chance on the media tickets. I went to the gate and asked if they were good. No problem......They were in the nose bleed. You took the elevator up and walked up two rows. My son and his wife "loved" it. Some people hate the upper deck. I sat on the fifty, row ten. I had rather been upstairs. I think the people who hate the upper deck have: 1) never sat there 2) a fear of heights 3) the attitude that only those who cannot get lower seats sit there Down low, you see the guys up close. Sometimes you hear the leather pop. But often, you will look to the jumbo to see what happened. If you are looking for tickets, get in the lots. If you are rude or loud, don't expect people to sell. They may be sitting there next week.....
As the person who started the Missing Tiger Rag, let me get this straight. The band played NOTHING on their walk down the street to the stadium? No drum cadences? No nothing? I havent heard ANY vulgarity come out of Drum Cadences or any of the other songs played when they're entering the stadium. This is unbelievable. Chuck :tigerhead
I was thinking the same thing. The march and performance between the two stadiums was always full of pro lsu pro band cheers. I wonder if they played it in the pmac for taf.
I was on the level 2 concourse in the East stands. I heard the drum cadence and the band playing Pregame at the base of the hill. The crowd was very loud too. Or was I hearing something else? Was anyone else near the hill when the Band came down? They really didn't play?
1. Played for TAF 2. They paraded as usual to the stadium under the cadences. 3. They did play pre-game, the last time they didn't do the run down the hill was in the mid 90's for Vanderbilt back when they didn't have the barriers up for the crowd. Someone had left there car in the middle of the street, tow trucks couldn't get to it because the crowd was to big and they were in the street, so the band couldn't play, so they paraded around the car and into the stadium.
I don't know how far up the "hill" they played. Not close enough to the stadium, I know that. We were close to the ticket office and right by where the band takes a left into the stadium. The drum core played "cadence" just so they could be in step, I presume. I would have even enjoyed the "hey hey baby"--anything. The motorcycle sirens were better. We never heard a NOTE. I have been there many times. I have seen them "running" down the hill, then stop and DA DA DA DA.................THE CROWD GOES WILD. I stood there saying "play SOMETHING." Unfortunately, I was sober.:hihi: :hihi:
