1. According to dandy don george edwards is our dc. I think this is a good move! Also we will have our whole staff in place by this weekend. Good job Les!!!! :) :)
  2. Not sure if it's posted elsewhere, and forgive me if it's already been discussed. Just curious about George Edwards' background?

    Thanks!

    :geaux:
  3. Edwards was DC for redskins in 2003 and has been the LB coach for browns this year and Dallas Cowboys LB coach i think for 4 years was grad asst. at florida and also coached at duke and appalachian state. I think he played Lb at Duke. He is a very smart individual! I think this was a great hire!
  4. He named his son B.J. ?

Anyway, it should be interesting to see what kind of system he brings in.
  5. From Don's Site:

    No Karl Dunbar, either.
  6. Naturally I would have preferred Campo as DC since he has a lot more experience at that position. I think Edwards is a solid pick though. Hopefully the LB coach and DC will get along and show each other a few things.

The only thing that bothers me is that as DC at the Redskins in 2003 they were 14th in the NFL. This is a substantial drop from 5th in 2002. They still had the same pro bowlers on the team in 2003.

Maybe someone can she some light on this. Yes the 2003 Redskins were bad and worse than the 2002 team I think. THere was some turmoil with Spurriers staff that season. Maybe this stuff affected the team but 14th isn't great. Although they were 7th in pass defense. This should be good for us.

Welcome Mr. Edwards. Good luck and we look forward to seeing you work.
  7. What happened with Campo? Did he turn down the job or did Miles like Edwards better?
  8. One thing that hurt his defense that year was a constant battle of field position and turnovers. The Skins O put them in consistently bad siituations, as I recall. The main knock on that defense was their lack of discipline in assignments.
  9. Could simply be that Miles met with Campo to discuss Edwards.
