I thought they chose what goal to defend, could have swore I heard the ref say that. No wonder it appeared odd to me.

They won the toss and got to pick ball or no ball. LSU got to pick goal to defend. Also the reason Tejada missed the field goal is because I said the magic hex. "Wade Boggs drank 36 beers on a cross country flight." It has a field goal hex success rate of 91% by my calculations.
