Game time has been moved back 30 minutes to allow ESPN to do a piece on Katrina ... kickoff at 8:15 central time. LSU will wear decals of the Fleur-de-lis and of the state flag on their helmet all season. From The Advocate: After attending class for the first time since Hurricane Katrina hit Louisiana eight days earlier, the LSU football team practiced Tuesday afternoon. The Tigers said they saw one medical helicopter -- a marked reduction from previous days -- flying overhead toward the makeshift triage facility at the nearby Pete Maravich Assembly Center. Players said each day is a step closer to what feels like a semblance of normalcy. "It felt real good today," said linebacker Cameron Vaughn, a native of the New Orleans suburbs. "We had school. We had practice afterwards. "We're starting to get back to a normal routine, and that's definitely a positive thing." Vaughn said coaches and athletic department officials asked the Tigers on Monday if they wanted to play the game even if it wouldn't be in Tiger Stadium, as first scheduled. "Everybody was like, 'Yeah, we've definitely got to play this game.' If we can't play it here, we're going to play it there," Vaughn said. "No problem." Vaughn said he doesn't expect No. 5-ranked LSU to be flat for its season opener against the No. 15-ranked Sun Devils (1-0), a game that will be televised nationally on ESPN. "This team's going to go out there like some wild dogs, I think," Vaughn said. "We have so much energy. We're just so looking forward to this game that by the time it comes, all the energy built up will explode out." Entire Article ... The Advocate
