Miles needs to go get Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables now. Clemson finished 2014 No. 1 in the nation in total defense and pass efficiency defense while coming in at No. 2 in pass defense, No. 4 in scoring defense and No. 5 against the run. Venables is only making $875,000, so he could be a bargain at $1.3 million or so. He is only 44, and LSU badly needs some fresh, younger blood on this tired and overpaid staff — except for Chavis.

This should be a good move for Chavis, though. He knows if he just fields a decent defense at Texas A&M, the Aggies can win a national championship quicker than LSU because the Aggies' offense is that good. At LSU most of the time, he had to field a great defense just for the Tigers to have a chance because of the poor offense.

It might be very simple as to why Chavis is leaving. Maybe he is as tired of watching yet another putrid passing game as we all are.

Hard to disagree. But, I don't see Miles doing a self evaluation and changing his offensive (no pun intended) philosophy.
