Well, at least I didn't listen to the Hawthorne call of UF. I'll bet that had to be one of the most painful experiences of all time. At least Jim Henderson knows how to call a losing game without whining the whole time.
thats because jim henderson has more experience doing losing games than anyone except for the ole miss and vandi play by play guys.
Just curious... what's wrong with Howthorne? I kind of like the way he calls games... it's almost like he's watching on TV and commenting on how things should go. But that's just me...
Where to start... (1) Lack of knowledge about the game. (2) Worst eyesight/spotter in sports radio. (3) Constant uncertainty about what's going on, due to #1 & #2.
If you think he is bad you should listen to the local guy ( bob Norris ) doing sports. he makes Jim look great.
I used to like him a lot, but it's hard to listen to him nowadays.. he's too negative. I would hate to have listened to this game on the radio.
IMO, he just accentuates the negative too much. Instead of just saying : "Tebow off the left side for about 4 yards, brought down hard by Daniels," he would say " Huge gaping hole over the left side and Tebow is dragging people with him all the way down to the LSU 30. This is a very tired group of tigers and they just can't stop anybody. My goodness."
I just can't get past his rendition of "Little Green Apples" on his new CD. Now, when I watch my Tigers play and Hawthorne starts to talk, I hear "Little Green Apples". Sigh, lost all respect for the man.
