Very good to hear that coach is going to make sure that the guys get re-focused for Saturday. LSU coach Les Miles suggested the voters didn't get up early enough to watch the first half of the Tigers' victory against Tulane, when they led 10-9 at the break. "They kind of slept in and got kind of caught up on the score later in the day," he said Sunday. "We can't afford to play like that anymore for any length of time, whether it is a half or whatever. We played without the focus or intensity we are capable of. "There will be none of our players who arrive here on Monday that feel like they have achieved any milestone in any way. It will be business as usual." link
I pity the squads that messed up yesterday. Practice is gonna be like Marine boot camp and only a Marine knows what thats like.:thumb:
my favorite quote i heard him say yesterday on the radio, i think wwl, but i can't remember. "don't bemoan a victory."
We that's good. Personally, I'd make the OL practice keeping their heads out of their rears and run wind sprints for everyone that has a false start. I tell ya, of ALL the penalties, false starts (especially multiple times by the same player) is the absolute WORST! At times, I don't get worked up over holding calls. Holding happens and sometimes, a lineman might do it, not because of poor technique, but because he's trying to protect the QB. I'd rather see a player get called for holding if it meant that he originally missed an assignment and was simply trying to keep our QB from getting killed. But false starts?? Man, those make me angry as all hell :angryfire One time, ok...the player could have been "amped up" and a little too eager, or that they simply couldn't hear...but after that, if it keeps happening, it usually just means that they aren't focusing. Right now, Stewart appears to be a player that moves prematurely more than anyone else. I know he's pretty much learning a new position, and I know it's not easy playing a new position after playing a different one for the majority of your career. So I do have some sympathy for him. But we're now 1/3rd of the way through the season. It's time for him to start cutting his illegal procedure penalties by a large margin. We KNOW he has the talent--he's had some VERY sound games and at many times he's looked natural and dominant...but he needs to quit looking like he's still in awe of being a starting OT.
