1. Can you believe the A's fired KM after losing the ALCS? I know they got swept, but when was the last time the A's made it to the LCS? That would equal if LSU would have fired Miles last year after losing the SECCG. That's just rediculous. Now if we don't make the CG this year and the next 1 or 2 years, then I could see firing Les. But not after losing the first one. I guess DT will fire Leyland if they don't win the WS. How rediculous would that be?
  2. not shocking really - he quit at the end of last year, then came back and they rehired him. word is he was not very good in the room....players did not respect him.
  3. The best players on the team didn't respect him - Kotsay, Bradley...

Plus he had a history of dissing players on the DL, calling them "non-entities"....

4 and out didn't help, either...

    C-ya....
  4. ok...don't follow the A's so didn't know that. If players don't respect you, kinda hard to get them to play for you.
  5. I think no respect is generous. I think most hated him. :yelwink2:
  6. Well...

The comments in the paper here this AM said that dude

    - acted like he hated his job

    - seemed more motivated by the fear of failure than being a "visionary leader" that focused more on the positive

    - didn't stand up for any of his guys.

Those things were some of the more salient reasons dude was shown the door.
  7. I wish the A's GM was the LSU AD so we can end this torture now and not 5 years down the road
