I wasn't old enough to really have an opinion about the games before about 1980, but have rarely missed one since, and I don't think I have ever seen the tigers look as good as they did last night!:geauxtige :crystal:

I'd wait and see just how good VT proves to be before showering the team with accolades. It was an impressive and enjoyable performance but I wouldn't compare it to the victory over Tennessee in the SECC game a few years ago. Many of those Tennessee players are still in the NFL and their fans had reservations to the rose bowl. Now that was a sweet victory.

I didn't mean the "greatest or most important game" I just meant that I have never seen the team play better football or field better atheletes than I saw last night.

Has to be one of the best, considering how the defense was in total control/ total domination mode, and the well-balanced offense (virtually the same overall yardage numbers for run and pass plays). Can't forget special teams play and coaching.

honestly, the first game that came into my mind was the only lsu game with hal hunter as a head coach. just about a perfect game against a decent oppt. maybe that one stands out because it was so unexpected.

well, the 05 peach bowl too, but i dont give as much value to meaningless bowls.

I'm 36 and have seen many, many LSU games and last night was probably the best single game I've ever seen us play.

After 2 games, the defense is the best defense I have ever seen at LSU. Until this year, I thought the 2003 D down the stretch was the best we had ever had......but, so far, this is the best. The D is all over the field....it looks like we're playing with 15 players. Fun to watch.

I agree, about as close to a perfectly executed football game as you can get. This Michigan meltdown could not have come at a worse time.

LONG LIVE LLOYD CARR, win big blue!!!! Hopefully they can turn it around and run the table so CLM stays put.

It the most dominating performance I have seen in my limited years as a fan. I didnt grow up on LSU and only became a fan after I decided to go to LSU. I was a freshman in Tiger Band in 1999, and as bad as that season was, it turns out that wasnt too bad of a time to become a fan. :)

The years since have been much more enjoyable. :geauxtige

VT was inept on offense, I almost think this game doesn't count. I'd go way back to the Ole Miss game in 1970, Archie Mannings Sr. year. OM beat us Archies soph. and jr. years, I think, and LSU came out and beat them, 61-17. It was total domination. This was a big win, but no way was VT the #9 team, although I will watch to see how they do the rest of the way. Their Frosh QB looks like a winner after he gets some experience.

The 1982 game against FSU, 55-21 Tiger win to get to the Orange Bowl was big, not as close as the score. We got unsportsmanlike conduct penalties for the oranges being tossed on the field, ended up kicking off from our 10 yd. line one time and gave FSU a TD. FSU was a better club than VT last night.
