Greetings to all the LSU Tiger fans. This is my first post on your board and I am quite impressed with the good discussion you have going on here. I am looking forward to coming down Saturday. It is my first trip to Baton Rouge and needless to say this game needs no build up. My family and I try to take in one road game every year. We had a choice of going to Gainesville or Baton Rouge this year. My wife and daughters chose Baton Rouge. I told them this week that we may have made the wrong choice because as the Japanese Admiral said after Pearl Harbor "I fear a sleeping giant has been awakened" :) . In any event we are looking forward to the trip. We are driving down from Birmingham Saturday and will try to make it back to Hattiesburg to spend the night after the game. It will be a long day. I am a bit concerned about the logistics of getting in, getting parked and getting out after the game. Any advice, suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated as far as the best route in/out and place to park. Thanks!

Not sure about that. It's been several years since I was down there last. I'm sure many around here are much more qualified than myself as to routes and best choices. But welcome over. I'm also looking forward to the game and while I sense a nice respectable Auburn fan in you... i'm still rooting for a LSU blow out. LOL. Stick around and I hope to read more of your posts. Good luck to your team on Saturday... may the best Tiger team prevail.

Welcome AUTiger. Best first post ever! Very classy. By the way, i love the WWII reference:thumb:.

As far as driving fown here Saturday..... i think that might be a bad idea. Chances are that you will be leaving BHAM around the same time that i will be leaving my house (about 5 min from campus). Get here early to take it all in. Its amazing.

In any case, when you get on I-10 from I-12, you'll only be on a few exits, and get off on Acadiana Thwy. Brings you right to campus. As far as parking, you'll have to get that from some of these others. i park my truck friday afternoon, so i always have that great spot.

You and your family have a Great time tailgating aroung Tiger Stadium. I hope yall have a blast. And good luck Sat. Night.:geauxtige

Nothing like it anywhere else in the country. Food and beverages everywhere offered up by everyone for nothing all in exchange a little conversation. Louisiana hospitality at its best. Hope your family enjoys it.

Welcome to the forum. Liked your first post. I don't know if I can be as gentlemanly as LSUguy and wish you good luck Saturday, but I can wish you good luck on the remainder of your games. Saturday should see a hard fought game.

Welcome to the forum, and thanks for a great first post! We have a few regular Aubie posters, and an occasional cat fight breaks out with a few of our Bama posters. Normally everyone gets along fairly well here. We have some "more mature" posters on this board, and some students, so you get quite a few different points of view.

Hang around and enjoy the board!

I'm expecting a close hard fought battle Saturday, like the last 10 years! The winner takes a huge step to winning the West.

Hattiesburg? That is going to be a haul. Traffic after the game is a beast and with such a late start you won't make it to HBurg until 3 or 4 am.

There is usually decent parking behind Kirby-Smith Hall in the morning. Take Highland Dr. to Aster (?). Can't miss it. Might want to get better directions from someone else though

In a nutshell: Leave earlier than you planned, parking might be tough, fans will get rowdier as the day goes on, plan to stay in Baton Rouge after the game.

I hope you have a great time and that you are treated well. The LSU-AU game is going to be fierce and loud! Let us know what you think of the experience.

    Welcome autiger.

I will be making my annual pilgrimage dowm from Atlanta for this weekend's game as well.

The Hattiesburg comment really jumped out at me. I have tried to make a long drive after a game, and it's just dangerous. I just checked on hotels.com, and there are hotels available at a decent rate in Hammond and Slidell. Get you a good night's sleep my friend so that we can see you again in a couple years.
