The BCA are a bunch of selfrighteous *********s. Who are they to tell USC who they can hire as coach. If steve friggin spurrier wants to coach at your school, you dont go ask anyone else. you hire him, and say thank you. now they are calling for a boycott of south carolina? they seem to just be pissed that of the 5 black coaches in I-A football, 3 will be gone after this year. Maybe they need to perform a little better. Everyone keeps bringing up race with ND. It wasnt about race. It was about despiration. They are a program on the decline and they need to win, now, and following their "tradition" of letting coaches finish their contracts wasnt gonna get them wins. Willingham was gone anyway, now or later.

I agree with you 100%... That is the dumbest argument I have ever heard. That school has the right to hire anyone they want, unless they are discriminating by race. And they definately are not! Spurrier is definately more qualified than any of those coaches...

Yeah they're gonna waste time going through a sham search while a guy who dominated the SEC and won an MNC sits around. Why would the search be a sham? BECAUSE SPURRIER DOMINATED THE SEC AND WON AN MNC!

Let's not forget that his competition in the East, until Manning, was nonexistent and that there was only Alabama to deal with in the West (after of course Auburn's perfect probationary season in 1993).

LSU was going through the tribulations of Archmannardo, Georgia was mediocre-to-bad, and, jeez...can anyone name any other good program in the SEC during those years other than UF, UT, UA?

It'll be vastly different now. Spurrier will have to be happy with 8-3 or 7-4 every year up at USC.

The NAACP and other like groups already have it out for the state of South Carolina because of the flag issue. It would be interesting to know how many of the BCA's policies and positions on issues are taken from those groups.

    The BCA can shove it!

Spurrier doesn't get in line behind any coach and black ones are no exception.

Schools line up at Spurrier's door.

The BCA may have a better case in other coaching hires, but they have no case in this one....period.

The BCA doesn't give a rats ass about hiring the best man for the job. They scream discrimination, yet what they are asking for is discrimination. They want black coaches to be interviewed and hired BECAUSE of their skin color, not necessarily whether they are a good candidate or not.

I will be shortly forming a group in response to the BCA's actions called the WCA and will be asking white players and their parents to carfefully consider playing for a black coach who supports the BCA's ban and one step further to encourage any students who might be thinking about attending a college that supports such a ban to look somewhere else.

Of course I also plan on becoming an Aubarn fan and will be trying out to be USC's mascot in the spring.

The BCA has blinders on and wants the wave its ridiculous flag of Red Tape in all the wrong places.

See Florida as an example, if you want the Ol' Ball Coach don't ask him to send a resume and tell him you will contact him in 4 to 6 weeks after the initial application period is over.

Totally agree. You get the best man available and that happened to be Spurrier.

That's the great thing about football (and all sports). You can cloud the waters all you want with issues like race and money and connected friends, but in the end nothing can hide your "W" and "L" record. No hiding places, and I think that's a lot of why so many people are so afraid of athletics; there just isn't that much "grey" area to exploit. Just MHO.
