I didn't realize until recently that former Heisman winners got a vote in subsequent year balloting. Since 3 out of the last 4 winners have been from USC, they are getting a greater influence determining future winners.
OK, I know it was Leinhart last year, White (OU) the year before, and Palmer the year before that, who won it from USC the year before that?
I agree. Personally, I thought Vince Young should have won it. I know that some say that the Heisman isn't nec. the MVP (which, if that was the case, Young should have won it for sure given the fact that Texas only goes as far as Young takes them). Not to take anything away from Bush and Leinhart, because they're both GREAT players in their own right, but is Bush's stats made possible because of Leinhart's ability to keep defenses from stacking the line or has Leinhart been able to have as much success as he's had because of Bush in the backfield??
Another tidbit.......when USC takes the field in the upcoming Rose Bowl, it will be the first time two Heisman winners played in a game on the same team.
